Ha'Penny Bridge

Pedestrian bridge built in 1816 over the River Liffey. Before the bridge passenger ferries carried people across the River Liffey everyday. Ferry operator William Walsh was told by officials that either his ferries needed substantial repairs, or the city would need a bridge. He opted for the bridge as long as he was entitled to a toll of a halfpenny from anyone crossing for the next 100 years!
Merrion Square
The Duke of Leinster constructed one of the largest aristocratic residence in Dublin, Leinster House, Second to Dublin Castle. Aristocrats, bishops and the wealthy sold their Northside townhouse and migrated South of the River Liffey. As a result, new residential squares appeared in the Southside, including Merrion Square.
Oscar Wilde Memorial Sculpture
Whilst in Merrion Square, make sure to check out the memorial commemorating Irish poet and playwright Oscar Wilde, commissioned by the Guinness family and erected in 1997.
Spire of Dublin
Standing 120m high, The Dublin Spire is the centrepiece of the regeneration of O'Connell Street, and was to be a replacement monument for Nelson's Pillar after its destruction by the IRA in 1966.
The Pyramid of Dublin
The Pyramid of Dublin was constructed in 1852 and commissioned by Robert Warren, who enlarged the house on these lands and renamed it to Killiney Castle. You can enjoy some of the finest views of Dublin Bay at this magical spot.
