1. The Trusty Samosa!

An obvious number 1, because who doesn't love a samosa?! and trust me, they taste a million times more amazing fresh. Hot, crisp pastry triangles stuffed with deliciousness (usually potato and onion).

4. Poha

Another popular breakfast dish, Poha is flattened rice mixed with mint, nuts, raisins, and lots of spices. This particular dish was topped with coconut and pomegranate seeds. It kind of tastes like a souped up porridge!

5. Vada & Idli

2 separate dishes, however a local recommended we have them together covered in sambar and coconut chutney, and we think she's on to a winner! Vada is crispy deep fried lentil batter in the shape of a doughnut, and Idli is a steamed rice cake. Both taste pretty similar, but with different textures, throw in the sauce and you have yourself another tasty treat!

6. Kachori

This snack is similar to a Samosa, it is a deep fried round patty with a gramflour, daal (lentils), and spices filling. It is usually served with curry, or spicy chutney. If you like your Samosas, you're going to like Kachori!
