Breakfast in Paris

Of course you cannot miss breakfast whilst in Paris! Home of the most delicious croissants, and pain au chocolat. Breakfast in most small cafés in Paris usually consists of a croissant, a piece of bread, jam, and a glass of orange juice. Parisians like to take their time with eating, however with so much to fit into our day we shared one portion instead of leisurely eating both.

Lunch in Paris

Café de Flore

It's likely you'll never be disappointed wherever you eat in Paris, but to narrow down your choices Café de Flore is a MUST for lunch! This is the best spot to watch Paris go by. A long-running café and celebrity haunt serving up familiar French fare. Jane Fonda and Brigitte Bardot frequented this spot in the 60s, now you'll spot celebs such as Quentin Tarantino and Robert De Niro. When we went there was some very 'Z list' celebs sitting next to us, a famous LA plastic surgeon and his real housewife of orange county, making sure everyone knew they were "famous"... Really not thrilling haha! I digress... the menu is relatively small, but this makes their specialties taste just that bit better than anywhere else!

La Maison Rose

Unfortunately La Maison Rose was closed when we visited so I cannot speak from personal experience. However, we did take a walk up because this quaint little restaurant was too pretty not to get a picture of! They serve up French cuisine with Italian influences. Next time we visit we will definitely be stopping here!

Dinner in Paris

Les Apotres de Pigalle

We visited here on our first night in Paris and it was one of the highlights of the trip! Serving "Assiettes a Partager" - small dishes to share, this restaurant not only pleases the palate but promises a sociable meal as you share the experience of each dish with friends and family. The owners know what true hospitality means, offering up a shot of their freshly made cocktail as we sat down. We ordered one of everything off the menu, and whilst it was a little too much it was worth it because had we not tried everything we would have missed out on something delicious!! The restaurant is tiny so booking is advised, although they do take walk-ins.

La Mascotte/ Abbesses in General

A very typically French restaurant, in a very typically French location. If it's authentic Parisian food your after head to Abesses, near the Sacre-Couer, to experience French food and atmosphere at it's finest! Read more about Abesses in our Guide to a Picnic in Paris.

Ralph's

If you're looking to take your time, and eat like the locals, you'll really enjoy the Ralph Lauren restaurant. We weren't looking for such slow service as we arrived quite late on, and the staff do not speed up for anyone... That said, the food and surroundings are beautiful, and if you have the time for a VERY long dinner, then we do recommend it here.

Ice Cream!

Who doesn't love ice cream?! Amorino is a chain, which you can buy in select places in the UK, however it tasted even better in Paris. Not sure if it was the concept of eating French ice cream and French macrons in France, but it tasted better than ever. YOU. NEED. ONE!
